"My aim is to put down on paper what I see and what I feel in the best and simplest way"
                                                                                     -----Ernest Hemingway

Question:
It is nearing the middle of another year. And I asked myself am I sticking to my goal of leading and living a life of simplicity? And what tools am I finding that are working to help me along the way.

Answer:
I found that with all the projects and tasks that come my way within the year are better handled and organized using the legendary moleskin notebooks. It worked for Van Gogh and Ernest Hemingway.

It will work for me!

My writing tool you ask? To put it simply. The Blackfeet Indian Pencil

The very hard to find "Earth Pencil" made by the Blackfeet Indian Tribe no longer in operation. A product ahead of their time.

In 1968, Chief Earl Old Person of the Blackfeet Indians of Montana, and other tribe members, sought the aid of the Small Business Administration in setting up a new company. The Blackfeet Indian Writing Company was established in 1971, with production facilities located in Browning, Montana, USA.
The company produced wood pencils and pens, and introduced the 'Earth Pencil', an eraser less pencil produced entirely from natural products, including soy ink for imprinting.
I was lucky enough to know them and was sent several boxes of these fine pencils. Some with erasers some without.

Paper & Pencil!
What a brilliant idea! The problem was the projects were creating long lists. Then the need for a productivity system. Then the need for a software application to handle the projects and the lists.
Then the time to learn the software.

The solution?

Somewhat ancient I guess. But just the simplicity of one notebook and one pencil. The moleskin yearly planner is ideal for handling my daily lists, appointments and needs.

Try it and find out why!
