Thinking Less

Thinking is important, however, I have come to the conclusion that quite a bit of it is useless.

Sometimes I think so much that I cannot sleep. I worry about bills, or relationships, work and deadlines. I worry about the sorrows of the past and then I worry about the future. I’m incapable of shutting it off. Very often I wish I had a remote control so that I could push the ‘off’ button to my brain.

The past is gone and the future isn’t yet here. Concentrating on the present is the way to find the elements of healing and peacefulness. It is only when we have an awareness of the moment that we can appreciate the beauty of everyday.

I’m going to make a conscious effort to take a few moments each day, breath in and out, focus on the moment and try to come away refreshed and peaceful. Even if only for a few minutes.
