I Love Bromeliads!
At a very young age I was admiring the beautiful foliage and blooms of the bromeliad. It seems these plants have become more and more popular in the last few years. Perhaps because of their low-maintenance.
They love the sub-tropical climate we have here in Florida and are wonderful specimens for your landscaping.
I took this photo earlier this morning of my neighbors wonderful display of these now blooming plants. She was kind enough to allow me to take a couple for my own collection. Hers are in a well shaded area, the perfect situation to have healthy Bromeliads.
I really appreciated her kindness and told her my grandmother, who was a Full-Blood Native American, and loved plants always told me to never say thank you to someone who gave you a plant or it would die. Well, ok, I didn’t but she knows it is most appreciated!
Now I will see if I can grow them in my own little space and get the same wonderful results. When these creatures are blooming they have such a lovely contrast, great planting for any landscape or patio area.
