Simply - Running My Web Development/Hosting Co.
Two years and four months ago my partner and I started a web development and web hosting company. Garlic D’zign. Recently we added services such as consulting for a few good reasons that I will go into later. Designing web sites, marketing, coding along with a few other things is something I have been doing for well over twenty years now. I have stepped in to help other people and small businesses get started online, by setting up websites, hosting, and consulting with them to market their site and make a go at it.
I have watched and listened to people complain about their lives, their situation and then wonder why their business is not flowing smoother. I have realized that people get so caught up in all the stuff that is available to us through the internet that it totally confuses them. I understand this very well.
So why am I writing about this?
Simple!
As a result of the above things I mentioned plus about 10 more pages I could write about on this subject I have decided to simplify my own business as well as my life.
How you ask?
I will write about it here, meaning, I still want to help some people with their online issues and business. But I will approach the method a little different than how we have done so in the past.
By making my life more simple and more calm, I have decided to unload a few customers, a process that has already taken place, and only take the ones that are truly needing the help. That want to learn. I no longer can deal with people that set out it seems, to make my life miserable just because theirs is, and that can’t make up their minds as to the colors they want their site to be. The ones that want to change something in six months but do not want me to charge them.
I am also scaling down the concept of the business, I want peace, and simpleness, I no longer choose to go after the idea of being the biggest web hosting company around. I no longer will seek after hiring designers, coders, a support team, bookkeepers and whatever else is on the list. These things seem to get in the way of loosing site of what is right and what is good in having the gift to be able to do such things as I can do.
So now what?
Time for a change, a BIG change and here is how I am going to do it.
Just like everything else around me that I am starting to work on, simplifying, making things run more smooth and simple, just like my life, as will be my business. I have already started the process. I sat back for about three weeks now, and took a long hard look at everything around me, made plenty of notes and made many decisions. Now little by little I change it all. In the process I hope to help any of you out there reading this. You have questions, I will try and answer.
