Your Annoying Spam Comments!
Thank goodness for Askimet or I would be spending all day just deleting the stupid spam comments that people with no consider time a waste of time! I can’t believe the amount of crud I get on a day to day basis. How many has Askimet caught for me so far. Well look at this “Akismet has caught 1,754 spam for you since you first installed it.”
The bad thing is my other sites have triple to that number. Ever visit getafreelancer.com or some of the other freelance job sites? Look at the job requests in there sometime. People posting jobs looking to hire someone for just this very thing. To keep posting rotten comments on blogs that have no rhyme or reason to allow such a comment to come through.
Askimet is not the only spam comment filter out there but it is already installed in Wordpress so use it! If its not there here is the link to get the download and read more about what this plugin actually does. Get it here!
I wish I had even half the this amount in positive comments here. Many times I get comment from people that are quite sincere and ask for their remarks not to be shown which I do respect.
So to all you comment spammers out there please, get a real life!
