As the year comes to a close, it’s important to take time to reflect on the past year and make plans for the future. December is a time for thinking about the triumphs and tragedies of the past twelve months, and for dreaming of the things we want to accomplish in the year to come. We think about the friends we’ve made, the things we’ve achieved, and the people we’ve lost. While we may feel the loss of those who have passed away, their influence on us remains. Let their example inspire us to live our lives with purpose and joy.
Traditionally, we make New Year’s resolutions to mark the end of one year and the beginning of the next. These resolutions often focus on tangible goals like losing weight or reading more books. While these goals can be important, this year I want to encourage you to consider the things that will leave a more lasting impression. Ultimately, it’s the relationships we build, the causes we support, and the things we learn that will be remembered.
So as we come to the end of 2022, I want to ask you a question: are you living the life you want, surrounded by people who bring you joy and fulfillment?
Before you make your list of resolutions, take a moment to think about what you can do today to start living your best life.
As Anne Frank said, “How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
