Christmas Eve.
I send out Blessings and Hope to all the world today, and gratitude to the readers of Sunday Morning Blogger.
It is tough to keep writing for this small space in the huge web of technology but in all honesty it gives me a bit of peace and comfort. Mainly because I created this project along side of my dear friend that is no longer with us.
This is the first Christmas I will not receive her Christmas box of goodies and writings, or an email, a phone call or text. (She really did not like texting) So I thought I would share the email exchange between the two of us last Christmas.
Thank you readers.
December 25th, 2020 I sent Laurie this poem by Mary Oliver. We both enjoyed her poems and writings so much.
This Morning
This morning the redbirds’ eggs
have hatched and already chicks
are chirping for food. They don’t
know where it’s coming from, they
just keep shouting, “More! More!
As to anything else, they haven’t
had a single thought. Their eyes
haven’t yet opened, they know nothing
about the skythat’s waiting. Or
the thousands, the millions of trees.
They don’t even know they have wings.
And just like that, like a simple
neighborhood event, a miracle
is taking place.
~ Mary Oliver
Laurie wrote back:
same to you, dear spirit. And what a beautiful and evocative poem.
Thank you for sharing it with me! May your day be bright with enough calmness to keep you in balance.
Sending warm wishes, Laurie
