Sunday Morning Blogger

About Sunday Morning Blogger

There are some mornings that ask nothing of us.

No headlines to chase.

No opinions to defend.

No list to finish before the coffee cools.

Sunday mornings have always felt like that kind of hour to me. A pause between what has already happened and whatever comes next. A small clearing in the week where thoughts can settle, memories have room to surface, and ordinary life can be noticed again.

That is the heart of Sunday Morning Blogger.

This space is a home for short, thoughtful stories paired with a single image. Sometimes the image may be an old photograph. Sometimes it may be a quiet street, a window lit just before dusk, a table set for one, or a path that looks as though it has been walked a thousand times before. Each Sunday, one image leads the way into a story.

The stories shared here are not rushed. They are meant to be read the way Sunday mornings are meant to be lived, slowly and without an agenda. Some are nostalgic. Some are hopeful. Some are gentle and a little bittersweet. Many of them sit in that familiar place between remembering and hoping.

You will not find cliffhangers here.

You will not find loud opinions or tidy lessons wrapped in bows.

What you may find is recognition.

A moment that reminds you of someone you once knew.

A place that feels oddly familiar.

A sentence that lingers longer than expected.

Sunday Morning Blogger has had different seasons in the past, shaped by friendship, collaboration, and shared creativity. One of those important seasons included my dear friend, Laurie Wagner Buyer, whose presence, encouragement, and creative spirit remain part of this site’s story. Laurie has since passed away, but her memory is still woven into the quiet purpose of this space. Moving forward, Sunday Morning Blogger continues with gratitude for what was shared, and with a simple hope: to offer something calm, meaningful, and human, one Sunday at a time.

Over time, these stories may grow into something more, perhaps a collected book or a series of quiet volumes meant to be returned to again and again. For now, they live here as they are, one Sunday at a time.

There is nothing to sign up for. Nothing urgent waiting for you here. Just a place to return to when the week feels full and you want something steady.

If this is your first visit, you can begin with the most recent story, or wander through earlier ones and see which image calls to you. There is no correct order. Each piece stands on its own, but together they form a larger conversation about ordinary lives, small moments, and the spaces we rarely pause long enough to notice.

From time to time, I may also share reflections about the images themselves, the act of noticing, or the reasons certain stories insist on being told. These are not explanations as much as companion pieces, quiet notes left in the margins.

If you find yourself returning on Sundays, that feels like enough.

This site is not trying to keep up with the world.

It is simply making room for a few still moments inside it.

So, I bid you a fond welcome.

I’m glad you found your way here.

Come back next Sunday morning — there will be a new story waiting.
